SAN DIEGO — Driving around with a modified, customized license plate may look cool, but San Diego police say it’s illegal and could cost drivers their cars.
San Diego Police Officer Anthony Carrasco pulled dozens of confiscated modified license plates from a basket at the department’s traffic headquarters, representing just one month of enforcement.
“So these are all of the license plates that we’ve confiscated that are modified,” Carrasco said. “This is just what traffic division has gotten in about a month, and that’s with our motorcycle officers and traffic officers.”…
