Driver killed in crash with semi-truck on I-95, troopers say

A driver was killed on Interstate 95 in Jasper County in a rear-end collision with a semi-truck that shuttered one side of the interstate for hours Wednesday morning.

The fatal crash happened around 5:05 a.m. Wednesday near mile marker 1, slightly north of the Georgia-South Carolina border, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.

A 2026 Toyota Camry driving north struck the rear of a 2022 Peterbilt semi-truck that was stopped in traffic. The driver of the Toyota was pronounced dead, Master Trooper Joseph Rowell of the SCHP said. No other injuries were reported…
