A Houston father accused of beating his twin daughters to death will spend up to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to two felonies in connection to the killings.
Fernando Vega, 23, pleaded guilty to two counts of injury to a child causing serious bodily injury. As a result of a plea deal reached with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, Vega avoided going to trial on capital murder charges.
