Ryan Coogler used his time on stage during the National Board of Review Annual Awards Gala on Tuesday (Jan. 13) to remember Renee Good, the 37-year-old woman who was fatally shot by ICE agent Jonathan Ross in Minneapolis earlier this month.
The filmmaker, fresh off a Cinematic and Box Office Achievement win for Sinnersat the 2026 Golden Globes, was on hand for Tuesday’s New York City event to accept the organization’s Best Original Screenplay honor.
