MDC closing Busiek State Forest shooting range for maintenance

HIGHLANDVILLE, Mo. — The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) announced this week that the shooting range at the Busiek State Forest and Wildlife Area will be temporarily closed for maintenance starting Monday, Jan. 19.

In a press release, MDC says crews will make routine repairs, install a new perimeter fence, remove storm-damaged trees and make other needed improvements. They expect the shooting range to reopen in January.

The road that leads into the range area will also be closed during this time. The trails on the west side of the conservation area will be open, but hikers have to park in the main parking lot.
