The pool at Tacoma’s Eastside Community Center is closed until further notice, according to Parks Tacoma.
Parks officials uncovered additional damage to the pool, which opened about eight years ago, during a routine maintenance check in December, according to spokesperson Stacia Glenn. The maintenance check revealed a leaky circulation pump, and as staff were repairing the leak they found that the pump needs a new “impeller,” which helps circulate water in the pool, Glenn said.
