‘Armed, dangerous’ suspects wanted in $500K burglary, troopers say

FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTUU) – Alaska authorities are intensifying their search for two men linked to a massive burglary that stripped an Ester gold miner of roughly $500,000 in raw gold, jewelry, and a small arsenal of firearms.

Troopers say 37-year-old Benjamin Cross and 44-year-old Gene Utley, both of North Pole, are wanted in connection with the burglary.

Cross is considered armed and dangerous. Alaska State Troopers ask people not approach him and call 911 if he is spotted. Police believe he may be in the Anchorage area. Cross is wanted on a $500,000 arrest warrant for burglary, theft and misconduct involving a weapon.

Utley is considered a person of interest in the case.
