ANN ARBOR, MI — Michigan’s 15 public universities generate nearly $45 billion in economic activity for the state while delivering a 28-to-1 return on taxpayer investment, a Jan. 13 University of Michigan story in the University Record states.
The Michigan Association of State Universities, working with the Anderson Economic Group, found in an economic impact study published Jan. 13 that the universities provided substantial returns on the $1.6 billion in state appropriations for higher education.
