ASHEVILLE – An Asheville man recently pleaded guilty to statutory rape in Buncombe County Superior Court after prosecutors say he lied about his age to gain the victim’s trust.
Wilver Estuardo Ramirez-Perez, 22, entered the guilty plea Jan. 5 to statutory rape by a defendant more than four but less than six years older than the victim, court records show. He was sentenced to between 44 months and 65 months — for a maximum of over five years — in prison, according to his sentencing documents.
