Blast of wintry weather closes schools, impacts morning commute

ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A burst of snow and gusty winds prompted school closures and delays across parts of western North Carolina Thursday and complicated the morning commute for many.

A Winter Weather Advisory for Graham, Swain, Haywood, Madison, Yancey, and Mitchell counties will remain in effect until noon. Areas outside these locations should expect flurries or less than an inch of accumulation.
