Investigation sheds light on Calera train derailment that killed Mountain Brook man

CALERA, Ala. (WBRC) – A preliminary report has shed more light on a December train derailment that killed a CSX employee from Mountain Brook.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) released the findings of an investigation after a train derailed near the County Road 22 crossing in Calera on Dec. 13, 2025.
