TRENTON, Fla. (WCJB) – Gilchrist County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a burglary suspect after a manhunt on Wednesday evening.
Sheriff’s deputies say they received a report of a burglary in progress involving a shed in the Southwest area of Gilchrist County. The victim reported that a man, later identified as Alex Joshua Viers, 34, drove onto the property and stole a chainsaw and gas cans from a shed.
Viers then immediately sped away from the property, nearly striking the victim in his attempt to flee. The victim got into a vehicle and followed Viers’ vehicle until it appeared to run out of gas near the intersection of County Roads 334 and 337…
