ALCOA, Tenn. (WVLT) – McGhee Tyson Airport is experiencing record passenger numbers with no signs of slowing, prompting officials to start major expansion projects over the next decade.
“We’re seeing so many people moving here, and it impacts the airport because we see more people traveling,” said Becky Huckaby, public relations representative for McGhee Tyson Airport.
The airport has a couple big projects planned beyond an additional parking garage already under construction. Officials want to add six gates to a concourse, create a bigger terminal, and expand ticketing, baggage handling areas and security screening checkpoints…
