PWAC isn’t listening to the residents they are supposed to serve

So … let me get this straight, the Project Wide Advisory Committee (PWAC) is a resident-led group that advises on issues relating to community infrastructure and amenities. Sounds great. PWAC has gotten involved in the pool usage issue pertaining to outsiders (non-residents) using The Villages pools. Sounds like they should. PWAC has since authorized a study to determine how prevalent the problem is. Sounds good.

In conducting the survey, PWAC followed the current rule of not checking IDs of people in the pool or those that may be “sleeping” (outside the pool, of course). A current and still-flawed procedure. Sounds questionable. PWAC used a sample size of less than 4% when the norm for such surveys is a minimum of 10%. Sounds ineffective. PWAC decided to conduct the survey during the cold and off-season holiday months (mid-November – mid-December). Sounds iffy. Survey results show that less than 4% of the IDs scanned by the staff were non-compliant. Sounds fishy…
