Trash pickup efficiency soars in Milton with Routeware

MILTON, Fla. (WKRG) — For years, the City of Milton has been receiving complaints from residents over the sanitation department’s failure to pick up their trash on time.

However, sanitation officials say it’s not their fault as residents most often fail to put their cans out on the curb in a timely manner.

“Nine times out of 10, the customers don’t have their cans out, or they bring their cans out after they see the truck go by, so then we’re having to call out, and the guys are having to turn around and go back and pick them up,” Milton Public Works Administrative Assistant Christie Youmans said.
