Verizon Wireless customers experience service outages throughout the Lowcountry

BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) — The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is warning Lowcountry residents regarding a nationwide outage from Verizon Wireless.

Nearly 200,000 users experienced problems with many phones showing no service or SOS mode. Verizon officials say the issues may prevent users from making or receiving phone calls, including dialing 911. They also said the outage could impact other carriers.

Any customers who are experiencing phone issues and need emergency assistance may need to use other phone sources to call 911 or call the non-emergency dispatch line at 843-524-2777…
