Staten Island Pedestrian Succumbs to Injuries One Week After SUV Collision on South Avenue

Tragedy struck Staten Island earlier this month, when a 66-year-old man succumbed to injuries sustained after being struck by an SUV. Jean Victorin of West Brighton was identified as the victim of the incident, which occurred on January 4, according to a report by SI Live. The accident happened on South Avenue near Forest Avenue, where NYPD responded to a call around 1:54 p.m.

The investigation led by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad revealed that Victorin was crossing South Avenue in the middle of the block when he was hit by a southbound 2014 Audi Q5, driven by a 22-year-old male. Despite initial assessments that the victim’s head injury was non-life-threatening, his condition took a turn for the worse, and, on January 11, Victorin passed away due to complications from the injury.
