Huntsville Police announce traffic control plans for MLK Day Celebration parade

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WHNT) — The Huntsville Police Department will provide traffic control for the annual MLK Day Celebration Parade on Saturday, Jan. 17.

HPD officers will be stationed along the route to ensure the safety of participants and spectators, and to help maintain smooth traffic flow in surrounding areas.

Traffic Impacts:

  • Williams Avenue (between Church Street and Dr. Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard) will be closed beginning at 8 a.m.
  • Drivers should anticipate delays along the parade route starting around 11 a.m.
