Lubbock man arrested for assaulting pregnant woman, firearm charges

LUBBOCK, Texas— Twenty-eight-year-old Izaiah Hernandez was arrested on charges of assaulting a pregnant person and for two counts of discharging a firearm. One incident occurred in 2019, and the other two took place in 2022.

According to an affidavit obtained by EverythingLubbock.com, the incident occurred in August 2022. The victim told Lubbock officers that she is pregnant with Isaiah Hernandez’s child. Records indicate that Hernandez accused the victim of cheating, leading him to strike her in the face approximately three times and on the back of her head while she was hunched over. Hernandez then entered his vehicle and fled the scene.

Lubbock authorities on the scene observed the victim’s face was red and slightly swollen. She informed officers that this had occurred multiple times before and that this was the final straw for her.
