The Lubbock Codes Enforcement department conducts neighborhood deployment

LUBBOCK, Texas — The code enforcement department conducted their monthly neighborhood deployment to help clean up different areas across the Hub City. It was a once-a-month job where the code department went door-to-door in different neighborhoods, making people aware of any codes they may be violating.

Code inspector Coy Humphries explained the process that went into it.

“We’re going through looking at weeds and rubbish making sure there’s a uh no overgrown weeds, no unsightly rubbish in yards, backyards, alleys, junk vehicles, any property maintenance issues,” Humphries said.

According to code administration director, Stuart Walker, the most common violations included illegal dumping, along with weeds and rubbish.

“People get new furniture, don’t know where to put it, so they put it in the alley beside the dumpster,” Walker said…
