OREGON, Ill. (WTVO) — It was day two in the double murder trial of Duane Meyer. Wednesday, members of the jury were shown nearly 100 photos, detailing the aftermath of the fire along with Duane Meyer’s vehicle which was present at the time of the incident.
Crime scene investigators took the stand today and shared testimony of photographs they had taken the day of the incident, some of which were graphic. One of the photos clearly depicted Maggie Meyer’s body, charred , laying on a couch. Another photo showed what CSI Sergeant Ted Nelson described as a soot/smoke outline of Amos’s body. Some family members of the Maggie and Amos left the room prior to the photos being shown as to avoid the unsettling images.
Testimony regarding photos taken at the scene lasted throughout most of the day. Though, the last witness of the day was a retired Ogle County detective who at the time, interviewed Duane’s girlfriend at the time, Catherine Mearns.
