A concert at Pilllar Forum headlined by Anita Velveeta on Sunday was canceled mid-show following a confrontation with federal ICE agents during multiple people were pepper sprayed.
Sunday’s show at the Northeast Minneapolis cafe and all-ages concert venue was scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. By 6:45 p.m., Pilllar Forum owner Corey Bracken received a call from staff saying that ICE agents were outside the business along Central Avenue.
Bracken tells Bring Me The News that attendees heard whistles and honking outside. Some left to find two individuals outside the nearby Supermercado Latino being detained by agents.
