SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A man from Springfield has been sentenced to 25 years in prison after being found guilty of hitting and pinning a woman with an SUV back in 2023.
Jamey Morehouse, 53, received a 20-year sentence for first-degree assault and a five-year sentence for armed criminal action. He was found guilty of both counts on Nov, 18, 2025, following a jury trial.
According to previous Ozarks First coverage, on Aug. 8, 2023, a witness told Springfield police that Morehouse was in his vehicle, arguing with the victim, when he struck her and pinned her to a work truck. Morehouse then fled the scene.
The victim told police that she thought Morehouse was trying to kill her. Two other witnesses also saw Morehouse’s vehicle hit the back of a work truck and then drive away…
