Albany man gets 5 years in prison for bus stop robbery

ALBANY, N.Y. (WNYT) – An Albany man was sentenced to 5 years in prison for robbing a person at a bus stop last August.

Freddie Black, 24, was arrested after an incident on Aug. 12 at the bus stop at the area of South Pearl Street and Morton Avenue. The Albany County District Attorney’s Office said Black approached a man, pinned his neck with his arm and told him to empty his pockets.

Black threatened to have a co-defendant attack the victim if he did not comply. He stole a number of items, including the victim’s cell phone and bus pass, before leaving the scene…
