LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders said on Thursday that she was extending the deployment of the Arkansas National Guard troops to Washington, D.C.
The governor’s office announced that the deployment was extended for 90 days and would affect approximately 100 members of the Arkansas Army National Guard. The extension comes after the initial deployment of Guard soldiers to the nation’s capital on Dec. 1, 2025.

Deployed soldiers from Arkansas are members of the guard’s 142nd Field Artillery Brigade.
“Arkansas’ Guardsmen are the best in the country, and I saw firsthand their hard work and commitment to public safety when I had the chance to visit our men and women serving in D.C. last December,” the governor said. “This mission is delivering significant, real improvements to public safety in our nation’s capital, and I am honored that our Guard is playing a part in keeping D.C. safe.”…
