Marsh family supports Alabama flood warning system after daughter’s death at Camp Mystic

MOUNTAIN BROOK, Ala. (WBRC) – The family of a Mountain Brook girl who died in devastating Texas floods is supporting Governor Kay Ivey’s new statewide flood notification system.

Sarah Marsh, 8, was among dozens killed in floods that swept through Texas in July 2025 while attending Camp Mystic. Ivey announced more than $1 million to start the notification program and is asking lawmakers to pass a bill this session to fund the system going forward.
