(WSPA) — Due to the ongoing winter weather, school districts across western North Carolina have changed their schedule for Friday, January 16.
Delays and and closures can be found below:
Buncombe County
For Buncombe County Schools, all 15 schools in the Enka and Erwin districts will have an e-learning day:
Enka District

- Hominy Valley Elementary School
- Pisgah Elementary School
- Sand-Hill Venable Elementary
- Enka Intermediate School
- Enka Middle School
- Enka High School
Erwin District
- Emma Elementary School
- Johnston Elementary School
- Leicester Elementary School
- West Buncombe Elementary School
- Woodfin Elementary School
- Joe P. Eblen Intermediate School
- C.A. Erwin Middle School
- Clyde A. Erwin High School
- Martin L. Nesbitt Discovery Academy
Haywood County
Haywood County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay schedule until 10 a.m. District leaders said there will be no buses on icy roads.
Macon County
Nantahala School
Due to icy road conditions in some areas, Nantahala School will operate on a two-hour delay tomorrow, Friday, January 16. Buses will not run on icy roads. The blood drive will remain on schedule.”
Madison County
Madison County Schools will be on a two-hour delay until 10 a.m.
“We will reassess road conditions tomorrow morning and announce any additional changes to the school schedule, if necessary, by 7 a.m.,” district leaders said.
