Duke Energy customers to see bills go down a month early

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — Duke Energy Florida announced on Wednesday that the company’s storm recovery will be removed from customers’ bills a month early.

According to a Duke Energy release, the costs are associated with the approximately $1.1 billion the company allocated in response to hurricanes Debby, Helene, and Milton.

With this news, residential customers can expect an approximately $33 reduction on their monthly bills beginning in February. Residents will experience another decrease in March, approximating $11 per 1,000 kWh…
