Retired Muscogee County teacher to be honored with designation at Pop Austin Rec. Center

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Retired Muscogee County School District teacher and lifelong Columbus resident, Angie Shehane, is set to be honored with a dedication ceremony at the Pop Austin Recreation Center on Thursday.

Shehane served in the district as a teacher and International Baccalaureate coordinator from 1966 until 2013. She then went on to volunteer for the local special needs community at the Pop Austin Recreation Center. Shehane also served in the nursery of Waldrop Memorial Baptist Church for more than 25 years.
