Kemp proposes money for Highway 316 projects, fighting homelessness

Gov. Brian Kemp plans to ask the Georgia General Assembly to dedicate millions of dollars on projects to turn State Route 316 into a limited access highway and to help local communities fight homelessness this year.

Kemp highlighted some of his legislative priorities during the Georgia Chamber of Commerce’s annual Eggs and Issues Breakfast on Wednesday morning. The governor talked about an array of issues, from affordability to traffic.

But, for Gwinnett residents, the announcement that hits closest to home is his plan to include $200 million in the state’s next budget for projects on 316 that will continue efforts to convert it into a limited access highway from Lawrenceville to Athens…
