‘Never expected this turnout’: Monks grateful for overwhelming support during peace walk through Carolinas

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) – Buddhist monks expressed their gratitude for the support they’ve received while traveling through the Carolinas during their 120-day, 2,300-mile peace walk across the U.S.

The “Walk for Peace” arrived in Charlotte on Wednesday, Jan. 14, and was expected to move into Cabarrus County by nighttime on Thursday, Jan. 15.
