ERIE COUNTY, N.Y. — A series of crashes snarled traffic, shutting down all westbound lanes of New York State Thruway near Exit 57A, in the Town of Evans.
One crash involved two tractor-trailers, a second included five passenger vehicles, and a third involved a tractor-trailer and passenger vehicle. Two people were sent to hospitals with injuries that injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening, state police said.
