Phantom Gourmet unveils new ‘culinary destination’ coming to former Time Out Market space in Boston

The Phantom Gourmet announced Thursday plans to bring a bold new dining experience to Boston, revealing plans for a vibrant food hall set to open in the former Time Out Market space.

The revamped 27,000-square-foot venue will reimagine the traditional food court by blending iconic local eateries, a high‑energy central bar, and live weekend entertainment all under a dramatically redesigned roof, the New England-based food media brand said in a Facebook post.

On Wednesday, Time Out Market announced it would be closing on Jan. 23 after six years, according to reports.

All‑star lineup of local favorites

The food hall will showcase some of the most beloved restaurant brands from across Boston and New England, giving visitors a curated taste of regional classics. Among the confirmed vendors:

  • Wahlburgers
  • Harrows Chicken Pies
  • Kowloon
  • Newbridge Café
  • Galleria Umberto
  • Abe & Louie’s Cheesesteaks

Phantom Gourment says the mix aims to celebrate the flavors that define the region while offering something for every craving—from quick bites to hearty comfort foods.

A central bar with star power

At the heart of the space will be a new centrally located bar designed as a social hub and standalone destination. The bar will feature rotating celebrity bartenders, including:

  • Tad Bonvie
  • Ernie Boch Jr.
  • Jim Sokolove

Their guest appearances are expected to add a fun burst of personality to the venue’s atmosphere.
