‘It’s the hardest thing,’ Mother still hoping for answers after Knoxville musician killed in 2021

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — It’s been more than four years since Knoxville musician Alonzo Rodgers, 30, died after he was shot inside a home on Nichols Avenue, but his mother is hopeful that someone will come forward with information that can give her family closure.

Alonzo Rodgers is one of 17 people whose deaths are listed on the Knoxville Police Department’s unsolved murders and open cases list for 2021.

“It’ll be five years this year and it’s the hardest thing,” Alonzo Rodgers’ mother, Rachel Rodgers, said. “It is the hardest thing.”…
