Middle College High students scatter as vehicle smashes through brick wall after brake failure
Terrifying footage shows the moment an SUV slammed into the cafeteria at Middle College High School in Memphis, Tennessee earlier this week (January 13). The crash occurred just after 8:30 a.m. while dozens of students were inside eating breakfast before the start of class.
According to police, the SUV — a black Infiniti QX80 — was driven by a parent who had just dropped off their child and was circling the parking lot when the brakes reportedly failed. With students seated inside and unaware, the vehicle smashed through a brick wall and large glass window, throwing tables and sending students scrambling.

The crash was captured from inside the cafeteria by 12th grade student Traveon Manning, who was wearing Meta glasses at the time. His POV video quickly went viral, showing the exact moment of impact as students screamed and ran for safety.
Driver Blames Brake Failure as Cause of Accident
The Memphis Police Department confirmed that the driver told officers their brakes had failed while maneuvering in the parking lot. As the parent tried to avoid hitting another car, they lost control and the vehicle plowed directly into the school building. Investigators believe the crash was unintentional, but the probe remains open.
