South Market is going back to its roots at its original 232 E. Main Street location in Pensacola, relocating from its waterfront restaurant at 905 E. Gregory St. after its last day of service on Feb. 1. They plan to open the Main Street location shortly after, within a week or so.
South Market will be simplifying their brand, reclaiming some of the elements that made it a local favorite, with more meals shared out in their courtyard, live music, board games and more, while still continuing to serve “homemade food and fresh cocktails.”
What’s moving into South Market building?
South Market owner Holly Hays told the News Journal she plans to lease the Gregory Street building to local restaurateur Andy DeMartin, who owns Andy D’s on Navarre Beach and Andy D’s Roadhouse.
“Returning to our home location downtown gives us the freedom to focus on what truly makes us unique: our scratch kitchen, our gluten-free offerings, and the warm, welcoming environment that has always defined South Market,” South Market shared in their statement. “Ultimately, it’s time to get back to the days when things felt easier, more connected, and a whole lot more fun.”…
