Stolen Vehicle Stop Near Longvale Last Night Ends With Citation, Says CHP

A California Highway Patrol officer stopped a vehicle reported stolen out of Santa Rosa near Longvale late Wednesday night, according to CHP Sgt. Kevin Will. He said his agency cited and released one person.

Lt. Quincy Cromer of the Mendocino Sheriff’s Department told us, about 11 p.m. “Sheriff’s Deputies were following a vehicle in the area of [mile marker] 15 on Highway 162 near Dos Rios…The vehicle license plate returned to a stolen vehicle from the California Highway Patrol Santa Rosa Office.”

Cromer told us, “Additional units and agencies responded to assist as Sheriff’s Deputies continued to trail the vehicle westbound on Highway 162. At this point they had not attempted to initiate a traffic stop or investigative stop on the vehicle while additional units responded to stage in the area.” Cromer said that the California Highway Patrol, Willits Police Department, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, and additional Sheriff’s Deputies responded to assist with this incident…
