Hours before a Beaufort County pediatrician was charged with driving under the influence, one of his patient’s parents told police he appeared to be impaired during their child’s appointment earlier that day.
Just after 9:30 p.m. Friday, Lance Lowe, a pediatrician and founder of Palmetto Pediatrics of the Lowcountry, was booked into the Beaufort County jail after being charged with driving under the influence and for driving with a suspended license, according to jail records. The medical practice has offices in Okatie and Hilton Head.
Lowe had been involved in a minor accident on Highway 170 near Okatie Center Boulevard, according to a spokesperson with the South Carolina Highway Patrol. He bonded out of jail the next day…
