TOLEDO, Ohio — A Lucas County mother says her nonverbal adult daughter was left alone, locked inside a transport van for hours in the cold and dark in an incident now raising serious questions about oversight and accountability.
The woman’s daughter, Sydney Reynolds, 26, who has autism and diabetes, was supposed to be dropped off at home after a day out with Precious Places, LLC, an adult day service provider based in Holland. When hours passed without her return, her mother, Theresa Armstrong, began to panic.
Using location tracking, Armstrong followed the signal to a Secor Road storage lot. There, she found Sydney strapped into the back seat of an empty van, alone and visibly traumatized…
