PERRY, Iowa — The manager of a coffee shop in Perry has been arrested on theft charges for allegedly embezzling more than $18,000 from her employer.
Jennifer Jacobson, 53, of Rippey, was booked into the Dallas County Jail Thursday morning. She is charged with Theft 1st Degree-Embezzlement.
Court documents state that between June 2025 and November 2025, Jacobson was working as the manager of Scooter’s Coffee in Perry, at 414 1st Ave. During that time, she is accused of embezzling about $18,400 from the business. The criminal complaint said cash audits and video surveillance footage back up the accusation.
As part of her job, Jacobson was supposed deposit cash from the business into the bank, but failed to do so several times, according to the documents. The complaint claimed she admitted the theft to the business owners and told them she would repay it…
