IBERIA PARISH, La. (KPLC) – Authorities in Iberia Parish are actively looking for a woman accused of escaping custody while in court.
The Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office is looking for 27-year-old Jada Landry. She’s described as being about 5′8″ and has visible tattoos on her chest and neck.
On Jan. 12, Landry left the courthouse and left the scene in a vehicle, IPSO said in a Facebook post. The vehicle has been located, but IPSO and the New Iberia Police Department are continuing to search the area for her.
While authorities were searching for Landry, a Facebook account appearing to belong to her taunted authorities, replying directly to IPSO, “They can have they cuffs back not me tho!!”
Later that day, the account, now named “Jada Lynn Grove’s,” also posted “Just call me Derrick groves!!” referencing the Orleans Parish Jail escapee who was on the run for five months…
