Fort Worth Mom Busted After Newborn’s Meth Overdose Death In Crib

A Fort Worth mother is behind bars after investigators say her 1-month-old son, Zachariah Gianni Cooke, died last July from a methamphetamine overdose. The Tarrant County medical examiner later ruled the infant’s cause of death as methamphetamine exposure, according to authorities. Police arrested the child’s mother on a second-degree manslaughter charge, and she remains jailed on a $75,000 bond.

What investigators allege

According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, officers detailed in an arrest affidavit that they recovered two glass pipes during a search of the home, including one tucked in a bedside table next to the baby’s crib.
