New Orleans defense attorney repays client after fraud allegations

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – A New Orleans defense attorney accused of defrauding her client out of hundreds of thousands of dollars has repaid the family, according to her lawyer.

Attorney Kerry Cuccia, who represents defense attorney Tanzanika Ruffin, said Ruffin made an agreement when her client hired her to refund unearned and unused money. Cuccia said that unearned money totals more than $264,000.

Court records indicated last week that the FBI is investigating Ruffin. Ruffin’s former client, Kai Hansen, accused her of stealing more than $250,000 from his family…
