ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A local New Mexico business said state grant money is helping them sell their goods to customers all around the globe, and now the state is getting ready to offer money to even more businesses.
TSkies is a locally owned jewelry store that’s been around since 2013 near Menaul Blvd. and Wyoming Blvd. Their business has collaborated with global fashion brands like Ralph Lauren and Polo. “We’ve been doing this for a very long time, we work with a lot of artisans, we developed a program with this company to give them access to local artisans while retaining a lot of the standards that these companies need to have to be able to do that,” said Mathew Shepardson, founder of TSkies Jewelry.
But TSkies founder Mathew Shepardson said they ran into a slight obstacle when a global company asked for a larger purchase order than what they were capable of producing at the time. That’s when Shepardson said he learned about the Creative Business Development and Expansion grant from the state Economic Development Department. It awarded TSkies $10,000 to expand its resources…
