Knox County to provide free home improvements for income-eligible older adults

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – The Knox County Home Rehabilitation program is providing free home improvements for adults who are 62 years of age and older.

According to county officials, KCHR helps income-eligible homeowners fix critical health, safety and mobility needs within their home. These include installing grab bars, accessibility ramps, comfort-height toilets and fixing tripping hazards.

County officials said those who quality must:

  • Own and occupy a home within Knox County (outside the limits of the city of Knoxville and Farragut)
  • Meet income guidelines based on household size
