Brief wintry mix Friday night before colder weekend

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Friday starts mild but temperatures quickly turn colder into the weekend. There is another round of precipitation for Friday evening into Saturday, which will start as rain and end as snow for the far east areas of Tennessee.

Temperatures have been rising due to the southerly wind. This wind will help high temperatures reach the middle 40s to lower 50s on Friday afternoon.

For snow accumulation, a dusting is possible for areas east of I-65, with far east counties potentially receiving from a few tenths and no more than one inch of snow.

This weekend, turning colder! Some flurries on Saturday, but very cold with highs back into the 30s.

Specifically, Sunday morning will be very cold. Lows fall into the Teens and 20s. This will be a hard freeze with some frost possible.

The cold mornings persist into early next week, with a low in Nashville down to 14 degrees by Tuesday morning. Temperatures will start to warm back to the 40s and 50s by Wednesday and Thursday of next week.
