REDLANDS, Calif. — Redlands police arrested two suspects in an attempted burglary at Redlands Cyclery USA and investigated a reported shooting among multiple incidents detailed in a police report covering Dec. 31 through Jan. 15.

Redlands police arrested two suspects in an attempted burglary early Jan. 15 after a business owner reported seeing the break-in unfold on surveillance video, authorities said.

The owner of Redlands Cyclery USA, 21 W. Stuart Ave., contacted police around 3 a.m. after observing two suspects smash a window and attempt to enter the business. Officers responded and located the suspects a short distance away. Both were positively identified and arrested, police said.

The attempted burglary occurred one day before Redlands Cyclery USA’s scheduled opening at its new location in Downtown Redlands.

Shooting reported at Cypress Avenue home

Police are investigating a reported shooting at a residence in the 100 block of Cypress Avenue early Sunday, Jan. 10. A woman told officers someone fired a gun at her home. Police found a single bullet hole through the front door and a spent shell casing in the street. The woman was home at the time but was not injured.

Machete-wielding suspect arrested at vacant lot

Redlands police assisting firefighters arrested a man Sunday afternoon, Jan. 4, at an empty lot on Sun Avenue near Orange Street after firefighters reported people setting fires in the area. Police said the suspect confronted officers with a machete before dropping it. He remained uncooperative and was arrested for obstructing officers.

Pair of residential burglaries under investigation

Police are investigating two residential burglaries reported Saturday, Jan. 3, in the 1600 block of Sheffield Lane and the 1700 block of Camelot Drive.
