2 large white sharks ping off North Carolina coast in two days; first off Outer Banks, then near Wilmington

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — Two huge white sharks were tracked off the North Carolina coast in the last two days, according to an ocean research group.

The most recent ping came late Wednesday morning from a quarter-ton shark off the southeastern North Carolina coast near Wilmington, according to OCEARCH, a group that tracks sea life, including turtles, seals and dolphins.
