Case Closed: Prosecutors Decline Charges After In-Custody Death Ruled Accidental In Alexandria

Prosecutors have completed their review into the in-custody death of an Alexandria man who died while awaiting processing at the city jail last summer, determining the death was accidental and that no criminal charges will be filed.

The Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney announced Thursday, Jan. 15, that it had concluded its legal review of the death of Allan Tucker II, who died in August 2025 after being arrested for public intoxication and taken to the Alexandria Adult Detention Center.
