Move onto land provides big boost in winnings for Bally’s Baton Rouge casino

Bally’s Baton Rouge brought in $3.8 million in revenues in its first month operating as a land-based casino — nearly six times as much as the casino generated in winnings a year ago.

The downtown casino, formerly known as the Belle of Baton Rouge, opened its long-awaited $141 million expansion on Dec. 6. The casino moved into what had been its atrium after being in a small temporary location since January 2025, when the aging riverboat that had been its home for more than 30 years sailed away to a Terrebonne Parish scrapyard.
